Jeff and Jenna had such a cool first dance. They are both huge fans of Disney and really wanted a fairy tale wedding. What better way than to have dry ice for the first dance. They were dancing on a cloud in the Golden Ballroom at the Statler! This room is so beautiful. The chandeliers are gorgeous and there is so much room to take advantage of. The balcony is a great place for us to place our lighting. We can keep it off the dance floor and out of guests way. You can actually see the lights shining down on them from both sides of the balcony. They look like spot lights. We did also set up one more light behind the couple. It was placed on the wedding parties head table, but not in anyone's way. We wanted a nice glow behind them and loved how it lit up Jenna's dress!
Earlier in the day, the bride got ready at a friend's condo at the Avant Buffalo. The groom got ready at their home. The wedding ceremony took place at Trinity Episcopal Church in downtown Buffalo. For portraits we started off at the Curtis Hotel with just the bride and groom. Then we headed to Niagara Square and City Hall for photos with the wedding party. We arrived back to the Statler a little earlier than cocktail hour to do more portraits inside of the Golden Ballroom and around the building. We also needed to get our lighting set up for this first dance, as they were doing it right after they were introduced into the reception!
The whole wedding process was so much fun with Jeff and Jenna. Not only are they in the wedding business, but very good friends of ours. We were so honored to be the photographers of their wedding. We started off about a year earlier in Disney's Magic Kingdom for their engagement session. It was one of their favorite places to visit, so it was only fitting to have the fairy tale start there!
