Details are a huge part of a wedding, especially the wedding rings, We always like to take the rings from the bride and groom to do something fun and creative for a picture.
The wedding of Leyla and Mike took place at the Mansion on Delaware in Buffalo, NY. They were living in Ohio, but their families were back in Buffalo. So, they left it up to us to figure out photo locations! No problem. They both got ready at the Mansion and we did a first look in the lobby area. Then we headed to Albright Knox and Delaware Park for wedding party and family photos. Their wedding was July of 2013 and on a Sunday. This particular location is always packed with weddings for photos. We lucked out, nobody else was there. It was super hot out, so we worked fast and got them back to the Mansion for the ceremony.
During the party, Neal took a walk around the Mansion to get the creative juices flowing. He saw this glass chess set sitting on one of the tables and came up with this idea. The table it was sitting on had a glass top. Perfect for giving off a reflection. To do this though, we had to use an off camera light. It was held above the chess set and rings. Sometimes we have to play around with the lights and move them around to get the effect we are going for.
We then took the amazing wedding rings and put the grooms on the King chess piece, and the brides rings on the Queen chess piece! Just how it should be!
This is one of our favorite ring shots. We love to be able to do something fun and safe with the rings!
