Cheryl and Robert got married on October 25th, 2014. Their wedding was held at the beautiful Biltmore Estate. It is located in Asheville, North Carolina. It is a private estate and is over 8,000 acres. This is a photographers dream. It was also on our top bucket list of locations to photograph a wedding! This dream came true when Cheryl booked us for her wedding!
Cheryl and Rob had a vintage and elegant style wedding. From beginning to end, everything was perfect, right down to the little details. The ceremony took place in a garden to the left of the building. From here, we took photos around the grounds and main house (which is the house you see in this image). I should mention, the Biltmore is open to the public, so during the day, we had to contend with thousands of people on the grounds, not to mention giant tour buses. Luckily, we knew we could get a stunning image of the bride and groom when the Estate closed to the public.
To top it all off, Cheryl mentioned a vintage Rolls Royce was going to pick up the newlyweds at the end of the night! That just made our day even better! We asked the driver to park in this location. Then we described exactly what we wanted Cheryl and Rob to do. We wanted Rob to escort his lovely wife out of the Rolls and into his arms.
We needed to add some off camera lighting to create a nice glow on the couple. We also had to make sure the car lights were on as well. Just that little bit of light coming from the headlights, helped bring this image to life.
Lastly, we need to touch on the actual Biltmore Estate House. We could not have asked for a more magical backdrop. It was lit up perfectly! You can even see some of the lights on inside! The trees are all lit up too. All of this helped to create the mood we wanted for the photo.
This is definitely one of our most memorable destination weddings. What an amazing location and this image was a great way to end the wedding night!
