When a family contacts and says they would like to do a family portrait session with the vibe of the TV show Sopranos, Neal Urban Portraits is a perfect fit. A lot of drama, with a dark style of location, and very serious faces. They wanted a location that looked run down, not a lot of color, and pretty much deserted. They had the idea to use the old Summit Park Mall parking lot. Neal Urban Photography took a ride there to scout out if it would work. It was perfect!
During the initial meeting, they mentioned they had an old Cadillac. Neal Urban's brain was turning and really wanted the car for the session. Only downfall was it depended on how much it snowed and would they be able to drive it there. Thank goodness the roads were clear. However, temperature was below 0. The family stayed in their heated cars until it was their turn for photos. Jackets were taken on and off and Neal Urban worked fast! Everyone cooperated and made things run smoothly.
This was another outdoor session when nailing the lighting had to be spot on. It was a little windy as well, so the studio lights could not be unattended or they would blow over. After the session as complete, Neal Urban Collections designed a gorgeous photo box. The family also ordered a massive print to hang behind their couch in the living room. When we say massive, it meant moving furniture around to lay out the print and secure the hanging system!It was a great team effort!
