Photographers tend to work in a repeated location for sessions. Sometimes the location is selected by the client or it may be the best option for the style. Neal Urban Portraits has done multiple maternity sessions at Fort Niagara State Park. It offers a variety of different landscapes and is usually not that busy. Along the beach on Lake Ontario, there are fallen trees that are great for posing. The challenge is to make each session look different. One huge difference will be the weather. That can't always be helped. Neal Urban Photography loves the challenge of taking different angles, using different posing, or even adding in off camera lighting.
This image really shows a different use of this fallen tree. It was actually taken from a bank above the beach to show more details of the trunk and less water. It was great for a solo image of mom on her maternity session.
