This is my favorite image from Sondra's maternity session at ArtPark State Park. We had a gorgeous night for a session. We have worked with Sondra many times. We did a previous maternity session with her first child inside Neal Urban Studio. We also did a first birthday session in the Studio. We wanted to do something completely different for Sondra and her growing family on this maternity session.
She sent over some images of outfits she had and we gave her the idea of Art Park for the location. We scouted out this part of the Park a week before to make sure the tall grass was in full bloom and we had easy access to get there. It was going to be perfect! We brought some hats and other accessories just for fun and ended up using them for her last outfit. Mommy-to-be had a super cute tutu and striped crop top to show off that tiny bump. Besides little accessories we brought one of our old vintage wooden ladders. Neal wanted to get a little artistic but still simple. We put the ladder out in the open field. The sun was setting and we had a gorgeous golden color in the sky.We had Sondra take a few steps up the ladder (we did make sure it was very sturdy for her), then we added in the umbrella. We started off with adding some light to brighten up the front of Sondra. Then we turned everything off to get a somewhat silhouette effect. I really like how you can still see a little bit of color and detail on Sondra, while still having that background color popping through. This mommy-to-be was absolutely stunning and such a pleasure to photograph! She is always up for any of our crazy photo ideas!
