We did a beautiful maternity session for Lindsey and Jim at Fort Niagara State Park. She brought two gorgeous dresses. We wanted to start with the red one at the Fort, then we were heading to the Youngstown Yacht Club for some sunset photos.
This image was taken at the Lighthouse near the Old Fort. We wanted to have the mommy-to-be's dress cascade down the stone stairs. I love the lace and how it looks with the texture of the light house. Red looks great on Lindsey! We did some side lighting for this image. We did have a few shadows on her face we had to get rid of. For maternity posing, there is a lot of hands on the belly. Since Lindsey had a really tiny bump, we really needed her to arch her back and stick out the belly. We had her bend her front leg to keep that nice curve in her body too. We originally had her looking right at the camera. Then we asked her to look off over her shoulder. We always like to have some drama! This ended up working out great with her in the door frame. Her hair is perfect cascading down her shoulders, just like her dress.
After doing a few more portraits at Fort Niagara State Park, we went down near the Youngstown Yacht Club. We got a beautiful sunset that night and more amazing images with Lindsey and Jim!
