Layla is so exciting to photograph. Neal Urban Photography had worked with her family many times, but never got to photograph Layla solo. It was either senior photos with her brother or family photos! Now it was time for this dancers solo.
Mom contacted Neal Urban Photography right away to book an Abandon Theater Session at Fort Niagara State Park. She loved the idea of her daughter dancing on stage in a run down building that was in process of restoration.
Layla brought a lot of costumes with flowing skirts. This was a favorite, especially for Danielle Urban. The rust color looked so great on this dancer. Neal Urban placed a grey painted back drop on the stage, as the back had a giant door leading to the outside. So we needed to cover it up a bit. This broke up a lot of the red brick that was across the stage, allowing the dancers to stand out more and spice up the photos. The color combo worked great with Layla!
Neal Urban Photography asked this dancer (well all the dancers) if she had a favorite dance move. This was one of them. It was also a good move to have her dress fly with her movements. This dress toss was absolutely perfect. She was able to make an almost perfect circle with the material, while still nailing her arm and leg movements. Not easy to do. Love how her pony tail even moves along with everything.
Neal Urban Photography created a custom photo box for Layla (and mom). Also some additional prints for her aunt who is a part of every session! She comes to all of the photo reveals as well! Everyone agreed this was a favorite image! The costume photo box had Layla's name, Abandon Theater, and year on the box cover. As she continues her dance journey with Neal Urban Photography, she can have a photo box library display in her dance room!
