Sunset Wedding Photos in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico

Neal Urban has had a lot of experience with destination weddings. We had one year where about 80% of our weddings were out of town. Neal Urban Portraits learned a lot that year about what did and didn’t work. Before even booking, we had to make sure the couples know we need time with them for photos. We are traveling all this way and want to get as much as we can. We do recommend a day after session when there are no time constraints of the wedding day.

For Vivian and Eric, Neal Urban Photography wanted to take advantage of the large rocks on the beach. The Grand Fiesta Americana Los Cabos Golf Resort and Spa had a beautiful beach. It was so different than most other beach resorts we have photographed at. Jamaica has been another destination wedding location for Neal Urban Studio. Those beaches are soft white sand. This portion of the day was actually put into the wedding itinerary by Momentos Weddings and Events.

After the wedding ceremony, on the Whale’s Terrace, and family portraits we all headed down to the beach. This also gave the staff at Grand Fiesta and wedding coordinators flip the area. The reception was also going to be on the Terrace where the wedding took place. The bride and groom were extremely adventurous. That was one quality we really loved about them for the wedding day. They were willing to do anything. Neal Urban still tried to keep things simple. But, we did want a dramatic image with the waves crashing against the rocks with the couple standing on them. They were doing very well not getting wet either. Well, up until the very last shot. The one that really counted. The groom took a hit from the wave. At least they were very good sports about it and continued to laugh. Eric was able to towel off and dry off by the fire pit during cocktail.

A little side note about the bride and groom. They met in a Starbucks. You will see in the last image here, they wanted a few photos with Starbucks coffee! Good thing there was a Starbucks at the resort! Such fun sunset portraits with Vivian and Eric. Now it was really time to party and head into the reception!
